What is MCP?

MCP stands for the Model Context Protocol — an open standard that allows AI assistants to connect to external tools, data sources, and services. Instead of an AI assistant being limited to what it was trained on, MCP lets it call out to live systems and take actions on your behalf. CasaPay is exploring an MCP connection that would let a supported AI agent interact with RentLink directly — creating payment requests, checking payment status, and retrieving reconciliation context — without you needing to leave your AI workspace. This would work alongside existing AI assistant integrations (referred to as Plugins for some platforms) as part of the broader CasaPay Connect channel.

If a CasaPay MCP connection is confirmed and made available, the kinds of workflows being explored include:

Create RentLinks

Ask your AI assistant to generate a new RentLink for a tenant directly — specifying the rent amount, due date, and tenancy context — without opening the CasaPay dashboard.

Check payment status

Query whether a rent payment has been received against a specific RentLink, and get the current status back inside your AI workspace.

Reconciliation context

Retrieve reconciliation details tied to a RentLink — tenant, property, payment amount — to inform decisions or populate reports from within your AI tool.

Workflow automation

Combine RentLink actions with other AI-assisted steps, such as drafting follow-up messages or updating internal records, as part of a connected workflow.
These capabilities are proposals under active exploration. Nothing is confirmed, and specific functionality may change or not proceed.
