# How CasaPay Works: Your Rental Journey, Step by Step

> Follow the CasaPay rental journey — from finding a verified home and connecting with an operator to paying rent and tracking every payment in one place.

CasaPay brings together the parts of renting that usually feel disconnected: finding a home, understanding who the operator is, knowing what you're paying and why, and having a clear record once the money has moved. From your first search to your first rent payment, every step is linked so you're never left guessing about the status of your rental or your money.

## Your rental journey in three steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find a home">
    Browse homes listed through **CasaPay Offers** — a catalogue of properties shared directly by professional rental operators. Each listing shows the operator, the monthly rent, and any CasaPay options available for that property (such as a no-deposit move-in or Tenant Protection eligibility). You can explore listings before creating an account, but you'll need a verified CasaPay profile to connect with an operator or respond to a payment request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect with an operator">
    When you're ready to move forward on a home, the operator sends you a **RentLink** — a payment request that keeps the rental context attached. You'll see the operator's name, the property, the amount due, the due date, and any applicable terms before you pay a single cent. This is how CasaPay makes sure both sides of the rental relationship are working from the same information.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make your move">
    Pay through your CasaPay wallet using the method that works for you. If a **CasaPay Plus** no-deposit option was available and you chose it, you can move in without a traditional upfront deposit. Your payment status updates in real time, your deposit (if applicable) is held in escrow, and your full rental and payment history stays in one connected place.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## The CasaPay rental journey

Understanding how money flows through CasaPay helps you stay in control at every stage.

**RentLink** is where it starts. When an operator is ready to collect rent or a deposit, they create a RentLink — a structured payment request that carries the rental context with it. You receive the RentLink, review the details, and pay through your CasaPay wallet.

Once you've paid, the status updates immediately. Operators can see when a payment has been received and reconciled against the correct invoice, which means fewer chasing messages and fewer misunderstandings about what's been paid and what hasn't.

Your **CasaPay wallet** sits at the centre of the payment flow. It connects your chosen payment method to the operator's RentLink so the right amount reaches the right account at the right time — with a clear record on both sides.

If you're on **CasaPay Plus**, the eligible no-deposit option replaces the traditional upfront deposit with a paid plan fee, freeing up cash at move-in while your operator still has the cover they need.

<Info>
  When a deposit is collected through CasaPay, it's held in **deposit escrow** for the duration of your tenancy. This means the money is ring-fenced — neither you nor the operator can access it outside of agreed circumstances — and the status is visible to you throughout. Deposit handling terms depend on your operator, the property, and applicable product conditions.
